Alaska forces you to pay attention. Sometimes it’s a sunset that never seems to end, a biting wind that seems to cut at you or the most jaw dropping summit view of a hike that could possibly exist.

Alaska shapes how I photograph. I know stories exist where you feel alive, where adventure waits and where you feel honestly yourself.

Alaska doesn’t let life be routine.

Also, you gotta know that I will be cracking jokes and keeping things low stress and funny. My job is serious, but yours shouldn’t feel that way.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I picked up a camera.

I know the value of a life. I know how fleeting a moment can be. And I know that when people feel safe, seen, and honestly themselves — that’s when the real story shows up.

Before photography, I worked in the medical field. High pressure. Long days. Real stakes. You learn pretty quickly how to stay calm when things matter — and how to show up steady for people when they need it most.

Before medical, I waitressed. Which might sound unrelated, but it taught me just as much. How to read a room, how to match energy. When to joke, when to listen, when to step in and take care of things without making it a big deal. How a meal shared together can turn into something you remember for years.

Those worlds shape how I photograph. I don’t panic when things get hectic. I don’t miss what’s happening while everyone else is distracted. I know how to connect with people quickly, how to make them feel comfortable, and how to notice the small moments that end up meaning the most.

“Kelcy came early with great energy and enthusiasm. She had a plan, was very efficient, and my wedding party and family truly enjoyed having her there. Kelcy is more than just a photographer — she emits so much joy and ultimately became part of our family. I felt calm the entire wedding day because I trusted she had everything under control. The results were more than I could have asked for. I still look back at our photos today and I am truly amazed.”
